Uptime Institute Professional Services is a data center engineering and management consulting firm specializing in high-availability data centers. Our mission is to address technical aspects of contemporary data center issues. Our consultants bring first-hand expertise from data center planning, design, building, operations, and management to their evaluations of existing and proposed facilities.

Independent of any Engineer-of-Record or manufacturer affiliation, Uptime Institute Professional Services consulting teams help clients develop and execute solutions that are responsive to their unique business needs in order to ensure that their data center is managed for uninterruptible uptime over sustained periods.

Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability

Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability was released by Uptime Institute on 1 July 2010. It provides data center owners and operators with means to unify the uptime potential of the infrastructure with its management. When these two aspects are aligned, owners can achieve optimal, sustainable data center performance. The Operational Sustainability Standard works in tandem with the Institute’s international Tier Classification System (Tier Standard: Topology). Long-term data center availability is the resultant combination of the Tier of the infrastructure and the rigorous operations defined and classified in Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability.
