Uptime Institute is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our users. This page describes Uptime Institute's privacy policy. When you register on Uptime Institute's Web properties, and/or request information, subscribe to newsletters/communications; participate in surveys, promotions, or other online exchange activities, we ask you to provide personal information. We use this information to enable us to provide you with the best guidance and highest-quality services.


Uptime Institute does not market to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Collection of Personally Identifiable Information

Personally Identifiable Information is any piece of data about a person that can, in any way, identify them or allow someone to contact them. This may include, but is not limited to, names, mailing or email address, and phone numbers. Uptime Institute receives and stores any information you provide the Uptime Institute Web properties.

Uptime Institute shall never share or sell personally identifiable information with any advertisers, outside agencies, clients or third parties. No one outside of Uptime Institute and its parent company, 451 Group Partners will be given any information that could identify you or allow someone to contact you.

Personally Linked Information

Personally linked information is data that does not identify a specific person, but is still linked to a specific person. This includes Web site logins, customer support requests and Web site viewing habits in general.

This information is used to help us improve our product and service offerings, as well as to provide more personalized content to our clients.

Like most Web sites, we automatically gather and store certain personal information and aggregated, non-personally identifiable information in order to provide you with a better experience when using the Uptime Institute Web properties. Additional Information Usage

We reserve the right to monitor user accounts for abuse of copyright and our Terms of Use based on any information collected about users of Uptime Institute Web properties.


When you register for an Uptime Institute event, we may request additional information such as a credit card number and expiration date. This information is used for confirmation and billing purposes. Also, when you register for an event, we may request additional information about your hotel, meal and other travel preferences. This information is used only for the specific event. Uptime Institute uses third-party service providers such as credit card processing companies, shipping companies, mailing houses and event coordinators, together with other service providers as required to satisfy client requests.


A cookie is a small piece of computer code that is stored by a user's Web browser and enables our Web servers to "identify" unique visitors and provide personalized content. Each time you log in to our Web sites, a cookie is stored in order to identify you, determine your appropriate access privileges, and serve you the appropriate content. IP Addresses

IP addresses are logged by our systems for logins, report views and other Web-site-based activities. This is done for administration purposes and to aggregate information about our users' browsing habits.


Uptime Institute provides its users with a secure online experience that meets or exceeds industry standards. To do this, we use a number of security measures to maintain the safety and confidentiality of personal information about you, including, but not limited to, the installation of a software-based intrusion-detection device. All user registration data is contained behind a firewall and is accessible only by a limited number of Uptime Institute employees who have administrative access rights to our production systems. Confidential personal information is fully encrypted for the entirety of its transmission from the client to our systems, and then encrypted again in our database environments. Furthermore, access to Uptime Institute servers is controlled by limiting personnel through keycard entry, biometric scanning protocols and around-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance. Submission Of Ideas and Feedback

Uptime Institute or any of its employees do not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including ideas for new advertising campaigns, new promotions, new or improved products or technologies, product enhancements, processes, materials, marketing plans or new product names. Please do not submit any unsolicited ideas, original creative artwork, suggestions or other works ("submissions") in any form to Uptime Institute or any of its employees. The sole purpose of this provision in this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes when Uptime Institute's products or marketing strategies might seem similar to ideas submitted to Uptime Institute. If, despite our request that you not send us your ideas, you still submit them, then regardless of what your letter says, the following terms shall apply to your submissions.

You agree that: (1) your submissions and their contents will automatically become the property of Uptime Institute, without any compensation to you; (2) Uptime Institute may use or redistribute the submissions and their contents for any purpose and in any way; (3) there is no obligation for Uptime Institute to review the submission; and (4) there is no obligation to keep any submissions confidential.

Feedback and Information

Any feedback you provide shall be deemed to be non-confidential. Uptime Institute shall be free to use such information on an unrestricted basis.
